Why I Teach in Italy

Born and raised in a small country town in America, I knew from the early age which i wanted to travel and explore the planet. I was a country girl having a city heart, and also the small town of just over 2500 people was not where my calling lied.

After earning a teaching degree I made a decision it's time for a big change. I desired to travel outside the US, and so i started to explore opportunities available elsewhere personally. A couple weeks later I stumbled upon a great teaching position in Rome, Italy.

I used to be hired for the position which would start at the outset of the brand new school year. I began making preparations and before I knew it arrived that i can board a jet and begin a new life within this fantastic country. It had been something which was eagerly anticipated though nerve wrecking.

I’m often asked things i like about teaching in Italy. This is simply not a straightforward question to reply to. It isn’t which i don't like anything about teaching in Italy; you can find too many stuff that I love about this to simply pick one. This is, undoubtedly, the most wonderful experience that I have ever been part of.

Obviously my paycheck is something i love as well. Working at a top university in Rome, my pay is way higher than what I would ever have found in America. I prefer to work to see those paychecks!

But, to like work you have to love greater than the paycheck, and that i can tell i truly love everything about being a school teacher here in Italy. My students encourage me in numerous ways. They've created it easy to unwind, unwind and feel as though I will be amongst a group of old college friends. There exists a great time day in and day out, all the while they learn up to me.

The work offers me a great schedule. I'm able to teach my students and still be home when my kids escape school. I work part-time but receive full-benefits and pay. I am not sure the hours and the schedule which i have would be something I possibly could find working anywhere else.

Furthermore, i love finding yourself in Rome since there is so much to discover and so much for me to learn . It's far diverse from a few things i am accustomed to, however enjoy every minute from it. There is never a dull moment for me, and i also can say that i'm living life to the fullest.I enjoy the history in Rome, I love individuals and their eagerness to understand.

For anybody considering teaching internationally, Italy is the place being. Making the decision to travel abroad and teach within this school has become a truly remarkable experience which includes forever changed my entire life. I am so grateful which i was presented with the chance. It isn’t each day that this opportunity comes along.
